Roger D. Fannin, OD, PSC
Roger D. Fannin, O.D., is the founder of Family Vision Health Center. He has practiced optometry in Grayson, Kentucky since 1984 and has over 40 years of experience in diagnosing and treating vision disorders. Dr. Fannin is well-equipped to provide appropriate therapeutic medical eye care for diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. In addition, he has extensive experience with ocular emergencies. He routinely removes corneal and conjunctival foreign bodies and treats corneal abrasions, infections, and other ocular injuries.
A native son of Elliott County, Kentucky, Dr. Fannin holds Bachelor of Science degrees from Morehead State University and the University of Alabama in Birmingham. In 1983, he received his Doctorate of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham School of Optometry.
Dr. Fannin serves on the Carter County Board of Health. He was named “Medical Professional of the Year” by the Grayson Area Chamber of Commerce in 2005. In May, 2011, the Northeast Kentucky Small Business Association presented him with the Business Professional of the Year award.
Current professional memberships include the American Optometric Association and the Kentucky Optometric Association. He is actively involved in the Grayson Area Chamber of Commerce, and is a past president of the organization.
Dr. Fannin’s interests include gardening, kayaking, hunting, fishing and photography. He and his wife, Betsy, live in Grayson and are active members of Oak Grove Church of Christ.
